Needle tins, 1908-1912
You controlled the volume of sound in early sound devices partly by the size of the needle you used. The larger the needle, the louder the sound. Needles came in tins with four sizes. Most of these tins have needles in them. “I never set out to collect needles but many of the collections I bought included them,” Bernard Wiese said.
