Sound machines

Model of NipperModel of Nipper

This is a model of Nipper with sound devices in the background. Nipper was a real dog, the pet of an English painter. He painted Nipper listening at the horn of an Edison business machine and then offered the painting to Edison. Edison declined because he already had a trademark, so the painter took it to Emile Berliner, who said if the painter would paint out the Edison machine and put in one of his own he would buy it. And thus the Victor symbol was born.
